Mr. Hanks grew up in Riverside, California. While attending law school, Mr. Hanks worked in both the Training and Appellate Units of the Riverside County District Attorney's Office.
He received his Juris Doctorate from California Southern Law School in 2010. Immediately after being admitted to the State Bar, Mr. Hanks opened his law office, an office dedicated solely to criminal defense, in downtown Riverside.
In 2017 Mr. Hanks accepted a position at the Riverside District Attorney's Office. As a prosecutor Mr. Hanks handled various felony and misdemeanor matters.
Specifically, Mr. Hanks was assigned to specialized units which handled both identity theft crimes and drug-related DUIs.
In 2019 Mr. Hanks returned to work as a defense attorney.
Mr. Hanks is a member of the State Bar of California, Riverside County Bar Association, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice, and National Trial Lawyers Top 100.
Mr. Hanks is a coach of a high school mock trial team which has won a record 14 County Championships and 2 State Championships under his guidance.
